Welcome to the 'Beehive' website of the Nottingham Astronomical Society.
Are you interested in astronomy? Would you like to hear talks by astronomers or use a large aperture telescope? If so, the Nottingham Astronomical Society could be for you. We are a friendly group of amateur astronomers from all walks of life. You don't need any knowledge of astronomy to join us.
We meet at 8.00pm (doors open 7.30pm) on the FIRST Thursday of each month (except August) at the British Geological Survey, Nicker Hill, Keyworth, Nottingham. Please see the 'How to find our meetings' page for details of the location.
The society owns and operates an observatory near Cotgrave, with a 24 inch reflector telescope which is available for use by members.
Do come along to one of our meetings to find out more! Admission is free to interested members of the public. If you decide to join, you can find details on the 'Membership fees' page.
The Nottingham Astronomical Society is grateful to the British Geological Survey for providing a well-equipped meeting room on a permanent basis for our meetings.
